Healthcare is becoming more and more daunting to navigate, in securing a registered nurse
to advocate for you, you obtain the ability to have your concerns addressed by a
professional who has assessed and understands your specific needs and can effectively communicate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and your loved ones on your behalf.
Care planning goes hand in hand with advance health care directives and living wills, etc. A registered nurse has the ability to help you think through your care needs, have conversations about potential healthcare scenarios, and help you devise/revise your plan based on your values and the ways in which your life changes. Likewise, that same registered nurse can help you with the interventions outlined in your care plan when the time comes.
Direct nursing care offers skilled nursing services as you need them. There is no need for insurance authorization, etc. Many nursing interventions can be implemented without a trip to the ER, etc. Hiring a registered nurse to work for you, gives you the ability to have your RN assess your condition, communicate with your medical provider on your behalf and with your permission, obtain new orders from your provider, and carry out those orders, and provide you with education related to the new orders without waiting for a clinic visit, etc.
New diagnoses often times come with an overwhelming amount of information about treatment options, medication recommendations, specialists, equipment, and new care needs that can be taxing to tackle alone. Hiring a registered nurse to help you walk through a new diagnosis means you have access to on-going education as often as you need (i.e. questions about medications, pre-operative instructions, post-operative instructions/nursing care, and weighing the pros and cons of treatment options).
At North Coast Nursing, Ltd. our mission is to provide compassionate and professional skilled nursing care tailored to the unique needs of each client. We believe everyone deserves to have access to quality nursing care no matter their location or their stage of life.
